You should not hire an attorney until you are comfortable doing so. You should hire an attorney promptly, however, if you believe you are being underpaid on your weekly temporary disability benefits or that your nurse case manager is more interested in saving the insurance company money than in facilitating your treatment or anything else that makes you suspicious that you are not receiving all of the benefits to which you are entitled. Before agreeing to a settlement, or signing papers to conclude your workers' compensation claim, you should always consult with an attorney to compare the benefits you are being offered to what an experienced attorney believes you are entitled to.
